After losing nearly everything to coffee leaf rust in 2003, Heiner made the bold decision to replant his family's 4-hectare farm with exotic varieties like Caturra Chiroso instead of rust-resistant but lower-quality options. His gamble paid off. Today, Acevedo is recognized as one of Colombia's premier specialty coffee regions. This honey-processed Caturra Chiroso showcases why: rich black honey sweetness, delicate black tea notes, and the comforting warmth of pound cake. Worked by Heiner, his wife Yohanna, their children, and their neighbors, this is family coffee farming at its absolute finest.
